Joker in IT Color by thecreatorhd Joker in IT Color by thecreatorhd
This week for The Line It Is Drawn, we're doing Stephen King tribute week. King is my master. I LOVE his books. IT is truly scary.

Did two pieces this week (cause I'm crazy) - first up "Joker in IT."

Check all the pieces out here.

I read it too... the ending bothers me a bit less than in the movie.

I have to tried to explain to my niece and nephew why the scariest movie I ever saw was something made for TV called IT -- now I can show them this. Excellent work showing the grime and texture of the street and sidewalk -- is that all linework?

Wow.

Thanks! Most of it is linework. There is some texture from the good old photoshop, but a lot of inking. I posted the black and whites too so you can see.

You are crazy Phil, but in the nicest possible way. ;)

IT is one of my favorite books ever. I have trouble with some elements of the ending... BUT I love the book as a whole.

This image is a perfectly creepy tribute to it. Bravo!

Yeah, the ending kinda sucks, but most King books' endings do. It's a given, but the previous 1100 pages are pretty darn awesome.

Thanks!

I know right? It's his Achilles heel. He should get his son to write the endings.Great author all the same.

It's funny, as I was reading his "On Writing" book, he talked about how he writes most of his books without an outline. He just goes with it. Which makes sense why most of his endings suck. Good endings require a TON of planning.

Free writers are crazy sumbitches. And I agree completely, for a satisfying resolution, you got to plan for that stuff- or just be amazingly clever.
